Rainbow hair, this is one of the fads that received mixed response. Thomas Salzano rightly exclaims that some people like it; some hate it while some have gone absolutely bonkers over it. It doesn’t matter who you are, you just can’t overlook this color trend. The common practice to achieve a good rainbow effect on dark hair is to bleach them before applying a bright (and mostly neon) colors. The idea is to lighten the original color so that the bright shades get optimum results after wash. However, says Salzano, bleaching can cause irritation, itchy scalp and serious hair damage. To overcome this issue, non-bleach methods are being used to give rainbow colors optimum result. Layers of light blonde color are applied to give the colors a good base. Not many salons are trying this method though. And the way this fad has swept across Instagram and Pinterest, more people are joining this popular culture without realizing the toll their hair culture takes. If done the right way, rainbow looks really good on all hair. Just make sure you use good quality colors and don’t put your hair in a lot of stress. By this, Salzano means don’t color your hair too often. Being trendy doesn’t mean you should put hair health at risk. If you plan to go for rainbow colors, you can choose from pastel colors and bright neon colors. Another trend is that of stenciling. The cool thing about stenciling is that it can be done with temporary hair colors that you can simply take off using baby wipes. Thomas Salzano recommends a balanced diet and regular visit to a hair expert for keeping hair healthy and glossy.
