In this achievement-obsessed society, "hard work vs born talent" is a never-ending debate affair. Many media-based reports, articles in magazines and online blogs have been published on the same topic. Thomas N Salzano shares his views about can hard-work beat a born talent. With his wealth of deep insights into different cultures and civilizations, he has illustrated the definition of hard work and talent, their importance and concluded which of the two is more powerful. “Born talent, sometimes referred to as inherited skill, is often represented as the logic behind accomplishments of a successful person," writes Thomas. He addresses that born talent, no doubt, is a blessing and special gift of God. But it is very necessary to recognize it during childhood. If not recognized at an early phase of life, born talent is lost and wasted. According to Thomas, goal-oriented, extensive, and rigorous hard-work can beat born-talent (if not practiced). He adds that we live in a society that is only focused on victory and most of us have misinterpreted born-talent as the only key behind achievements of a person. But the facts and realities are quite different.
People only see the achievements and lavish lifestyle of a successful person. Whereas, the hard work and struggle to chase those successes are always ignored. Not only this, if the stardom is achieved at a young age it is tagged as "born-talent" or "got lucky". But the truth is that our society isn't ready to accept the actualities. Explaining the importance of hard work over born-talent, Thomas argues, "A person with extreme 'success-hunger' always tries to work harder than today". Final Thoughts: The blogger states that the entire truth is that people born with talents and special skills achieve honor/success with likely less hard-work than the others. But if they don't practice or work-hard to reach their goal, born talent doesn't help. They will be left behind by those who struggle and fight like warriors in the battle of stardom.
