Whether you are walking, jogging, running or sprinting, every time you are on the move, your shoes play an important role. Hair expert Thomas Salzano, who is also an avid traveler, photographer and blogger, insists on wearing proper shoes for accurate support. This is why, he says, choosing the right trekking shoe is extremely important for outdoor activities.
Choosing the right kind of outdoor shoes depends on the intensity of your trek. Thomas Salzano explains the various kinds of “off-road” shoes as below:

1.Hiking Shoes
Lightweight and flexible, Salzano says hiking shoes are best for small, one day treks in warm weather and dry terrains. Hiking shoes are best option for trekkers who don’t plan to carry heavy loads on their treks.

2.Trek Shoes
If you are planning to go on long treks lasting about a week, Salzano says trek boots will be your best companion. They offer better ankle and heel support in comparison to hiking shoes. Moreover, their tread-like sole offer superior grip and prevent ankle twists in case of a slip. Trek shoes also offer good leg support and are good for snowy and rainy conditions. Choose ones that are moderately water resistant, if not water proof.
Trek shoes constrict movement because of ankle support and are heavier than hiking shoes. It may take some time for you to get used to them.

3.Expedition Shoes
Expedition shoes are best for the adventurous kind as they offer amazing leg and ankle support while traversing a glacier or crossing a pass. Yes, they are so good that professional trekkers wear them even while going for an occasional hike. Their weight and bulk may take some time to get used to, but keeping your feet safe and securely planted on the trek is a must, right?

4.Mountaineering Shoes:
Thomas Salzano says he has seen mountaineering shoes only in stores and didn’t have a chance to use them. What he could feel as they are meant for the ones who want to tame high mountains and trek across mountain ranges such as the Alps.
The first three kind of outdoor shoes are best for amateur, budding and experienced trekkers. As a matter of fact, the choice of your shoes should always depend on the level of your outdoor activity. Thomas Salzano says there’s no point buying expedition shoes if you just started hiking.
